About TFT

twofootedtackle.com is a football blog covering all areas of the world game with a particular focus on the Premier League, the Football League, the English Non-League and Major League Soccer. The twofootedtackle Podcast is the site’s sister show and is available on the web and on iTunes every Friday morning during the English season.

The site was launched in January 2008 by Chris Nee, the author of several failed football blogs, as his portfolio with a view to kicking off a career in football journalism. It soon became TFT and the brand developed in its own right over the first year of the site’s existence.

In March 2009, Chris was joined by Gary Andrews to launch the podcast. Recorded in the in-house radio studio at Porter Novelli’s London office, the twofootedtackle Podcast has been nominated for a handful of awards alongside the likes of The Football Ramble, Football Weekly and that one with Steven C*hen. Unsurprisingly, we haven’t won one yet.

Late in the 2009/10 season, we decided to take twofootedtackle.com to the next level. With Fred Design and Gerard Harvey doing the difficult stuff, TFT was redesigned and rebuilt during the summer of 2010 ahead of launch in August.

To ensure a consistent offering of the very best football opinion writing, we brought on board a team of writers to work on the new site. Some of these writers have journalism experience, some blogging experience, and some no football writing experience at all. But all of them produce posts well worth ten minutes of your time. If you look around the site, you’ll see that we don’t take any ads, meaning these guys and girls are helping out TFT out of the goodness of their hearts.

The opinions here range from the extremely cynical to the gloriously bright-eyed, from Premier League title race excitement to bitter non-league conversion. There is no party line. Every writer who posts here, whether they’re a permanent team member or a guest, has the freedom to post what they like safe in the knowledge that their work won’t be rejected or edited, save for the odd bit of subbing.

Welcome to twofootedtackle.com.
