The FA Cup is now in full swing with the Extra Preliminary Round taking place this weekend. After Wembley FC travelled to Ascot United and secured a Preliminary Round spot on Friday evening, Colliers Wood United hosted Chessington & Hook (and Socrates) on Saturday. Also on Saturday, Colliers Wood’s neighbours, Raynes Park Vale of the Combined Counties League Premier Division, hosted the Sussex County League’s Hassocks and came from behind to win 3-1 with goals from Simon Moore, Ato Andoh Okai and David Mosley.
Hassocks had scored in only the third minute through Matt Carruthers, but Vale’s win earns them a Preliminary Round clash against Ryman League Division One South outfit Faversham Town.
