Hi TFT world, my name’s Mitch Day and I play beach soccer for England…and, unsurprisingly, you haven’t heard of me. As we are more than aware, the summers in England don’t last much longer than three weeks so when I’m not travelling to European beaches for FIFA tournaments, I’m playing the real stuff. I also like eating apples, having my feet tickled and writing!
Like any England football player, I get around! Only rather than bouncing my balls around females, I bounce them around different countries. I’ve played non-league football in England, third division in Denmark, trained with a second division team in Australia, played two years of college ‘soccer’ in New York and now play non-league/almost pro in Spain. A skint non-league level world whore, if you like.
I’ll be here playing week in, week out for CE Manresa, not understanding anything my team mates or manager are trying to tell me relying solely on my half-ounce of flair and almost consistent left-footed crosses to get by…and I’ll tell you all about it with a few tastes of Spanish football thrown in. I’ll also talk about playing beach soccer for England -the more glamorous side of my existance - and my other footballing adventures. I hope you enjoy.
[Yes, that's Mitch in the photo, doing something I haven't managed in 15 years - Ed.]
Nice introduction and amusing-wonder where you get that from.
Surprisingly I’ve heard of you and will be reading your articles with interest.
Keep the laughs coming.
Well done
